A1. For people who have never studied French, and for people who tried once and gave up.
Who this is for
You cannot say anything in French yet, or you can say bonjour and then the sentence stops. You may have tried an app and found that it never asked you to actually talk.
What you will be able to do
Introduce yourself and ask questions back. Order, buy, book and ask for directions. Understand slow clear speech about familiar things. Read short texts. Write simple messages. Build your own sentences instead of repeating memorised ones.
What is inside
- The French sound system first, including the sounds English does not have, before bad habits set.
- The present tense of the verbs you will actually use, not a table of two hundred.
- Numbers, time, dates, prices, directions, food, work, family.
- Question forms, because a conversation you cannot steer is not a conversation.
- Enough listening practice that spoken French stops sounding like one long word.
How it runs
Live one to one classes online, two sessions a week. Every class recorded. Short spoken homework between sessions, usually ten minutes.
An honest note
Three months of consistent work gets most people to a real A1, which means you can survive and be understood. It does not make you fluent. Anyone telling you otherwise is counting on you not knowing the difference.
